Guest-curated by Nikki Basch-Davis, the Go Figure exhibition focuses on figures and man made objects in our landscapes and environments as interpreted by plein air painters. Go Figure presents a moment to stop and consider figural elements that are embedded in our environments and often overlooked. These figural elements mold and define space and our perception, and all of the works included in the exhibition. Basch-Davis states "The exciting element in putting this show together was to bring together, to be viewed in one location, fourteen plein air artists with different ways of expressing what they see. They may be looking at the same subject, but they will always come up with different interpretations."
Go Figure features artists Nikki Basch-Davis, Linda Christensen, Lyn Fisher, Pam Glover, Dana Hooper, Ray Jackson, Judy Molyneux, William Rushton, Randall Sexton and Jerrold Turner. Including works from the collections of Dennis Hare, Terry St. John, Lundy Siegriest and Paul Stempen.
Arts Benicia, a non-profit visual arts organization, gallery and arts education center, is located at 991 Tyler St., #114 in Benicia’s historic Arsenal district.
