Mauricio Diaz, a renowned singer-songwriter with a 20 year trajectory, presents his unique blend of son veracruzano, Cuban son, folk, blues, bossa and rock at La Peña Cultural Center. Special Guests: Diana Gameros and Colin O’Leary.
Mauricio Diaz is a Mexican singer-songwriter that has become one of the most creative, innovative and poetic artists in contemporary singer-songwriter music. He has nurtured a sophisticated fusion that cuts across son veracruzano, rock, Cuban son, Brazilian and classical music, rap, pop, folk, blues, among others. Mauricio has crafted a unique sound that is hard to locate in a particular music genre and could be described as a distinctively new sound.
Mauricio has composed more than 300 songs, has recorded 10 albums and accompanied by his guitar, has performed in Cuba, France, Germany, U.S., Spain, Puerto Rico and throughout Mexico. He has shared stage with renowned artists like: Silvio Rodriguez, Tania Libertad, Elena Burke, Eugenia Leon, among others. He is currently touring in Spain and U.S.
