AMAZON WATCH and RAINFOREST ACTION NETWORK are pleased to be working nationwide with acclaimed Director John Berlinger, on the release of the documentary "CRUDE: The Real Price of Oil".
CRUDE takes us deep into the Ecuadorean rainforest as Amazon indians take on a legal battle against one of the world's largest corporations, Chevron/Texaco, who for decades drilled for oil in their rainforest home and left behind a toxic mess that is killing their people.
Witness the behind the scenes court battle, sometimes actually conducted in the rainforest, interviews with those affected by the toxic mess, a visit in the rainforest by newly elected left-leaning President Rafael Correa, a performance clip from an environmental benefit concert, "777 Live Earth Day", in New York City's Giants Stadium featuring the rock band The Police, and much more.
Amazon indians are bravely moving forward with their lawsuit with the help of some very dedicated attorneys and legal financial backers who understand the importance of gaining major media exposure whenever they can, as they take on the deep financial pockets of Chevron.
The Leonard Peltier Support Commitee South Bay will be screening the documentary "CRUDE", at WORLD CENTRIC, in Palo Alto, Friday, March 26, 7pm.
