Parents Education Network presents:
DAY OF CELEBRATION OF STUDENTS WITH LEARNING AND
ATTENTION DIFFICULTIES AND THEIR PARENTS AND EDUCATORS
The Largest Gathering in US Of Families With Kids Who Learn Differently
The second annual EdRev (Education Revolution) is the country's largest gathering of students who learn differently and the parents/families/educators who support them. Presented by the Parents Education Network, the day of games and family education and support services is expected to attract more than 2,500 kids, parents and teachers from all over the Bay Area and beyond.
The event is free to students and will take place at San Francisco’s AT&T Park on April 17th, 2010 from 9 am until 4 pm.
For parents and teachers, the day will feature renowned speakers and hundreds of exhibitors presenting cutting-edge research and assistive technology as well as a wide range of information, education, support networking and community-building opportunities.
More importantly, for kids of all ages, there will be ample opportunities to share their experiences of having an LD through a variety of programs including: a “SAFE Voices” student where middle school, high school and college students get to explain to their audience what it’s like for them in school. Other fun activities include a batting tunnel/pop fly machine, reading to animals, art projects, music, yoga, karate, a student message wall and art show.
“This is an opportunity for families to meet and share their experiences with kids who learn differently,” according to Dewey Rosetti, EdRev founder and organizer. “This is not an easy subject for some families. It is our goal to empower them and let them know that ‘different’ is not‘bad.’ In fact, it is often a strength.”
