LOADED VISIONS
By Antero Alli
-- appearing in person
These are original experimental short videos -- not videotaped poetry readings -- that use poetry as oblique narratives as a way of invoking the spirits dwelling in the texts themselves. If tribal shamans created content for television, these videopoems might be construed as their brand of commercials. This is a list of the poems that are used:
Book of Questions -- (1993; 6 minutes) text by
Pablo Neruda
Cold Force -- (1994; 4 minutes) text by
Antero Alli
Witch Burning -- (1998; 4 minutes) text by
Sylvia Plath
A.A. Anti-Philosopher -- (1999; 4 minutes) text by
Tristan Tzara
Mouvement -- (2001; 4 minutes) and Fairy -- (2001; 4 minutes) text by
Arthur Rimbaud
D.U.I. -- (1991; 8 minutes) and The Word, Weird -- (1993; 6.5 minutes) text by
Antero Alli
Some Pass this Way -- (1994; 8 minutes) text by
Sean Blosl
Lily in Limbo -- (1996; 27 minutes) poetry by
Hilda Doolittle (H.D.)
Wheelchair accessible around the corner at 411 28th Street
