UCSC Humanities 2 Banner Drop
Protesters Deploy a Banner at UCSC Humanities 2 in support of the upcoming March 4th Strike
On January 25, 2010 a banner was placed on the Humanities 2 building at UCSC displaying support for the upcoming March 4th strike. The banner reads "Strike March 4. Stop Privatization!"
The banner criticizes the trend the UC has taken of prioritizing building construction over student instruction. Tuition, as Bob Meister revealed in his open letter to UC students, is UC's #1 source of revenue to pay back bonds. So it comes as no surprise that students are paying more tuition and receiving less services. Resistance has been growing and will continue to do so.
The action also serves to mobilize protestors for March 4th, the statewide day of action against the privatization of public education.
