The Triangle Triangle Coalition is comprised of more than a dozen local advocates, community and faith based organizations, research and policy institutes working for environmental justice and an end to the toxic assault on residents of Bay View Hunter’s Point in San Francisco, East and West Oakland, and Richmond.
Oakland, CA – Calling for an end to the unequal enforcement and disproportionate impacts of environmental laws in low-income communities of color, the Toxic Triangle Coalition will hold its first public hearing on Saturday, February 13th.
At the first of three public hearings, environmental advocates and community leaders from the Toxic Triangle communities of East and West Oakland, San Francisco’s Bay View Hunter’s Point and Richmond, will present their demands for justice to local, regional, and statewide policymakers, elected officials, and regulators.
WHO: Local legislators, city council members and regulators from the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, California Air Resource Board, and Environmental Protection Agency will speak on a panel. Several hundred community members as well as over a dozen environmental justice and advocacy organizations will be in attendance.
