AND YET, WE ARE NOT BROKEN: the JOURNEY OF RECOVERY
Janice Mirikitani will share her life’s journey of recovery from a childhood history of incest, abuse, violence and internment of her family in WWII concentration camps. She learned how to recover her own voice, then created programs where other women, men, and young people have recovered theirs. She primarily does this via the Glide Foundation, within which she continues to develop creative community building and legacy programs.
As Co-Founder and Founding President of Glide Foundation programs and Celebrations, she has worked for 43 years in personal and professional partnership with the Rev. Cecil Williams.
A networking reception will be held at 5:30 p.m.
Price: Free/Club members; $15/non-members
Register: Online at http://www.commonwealthclub.org, or call 415-597-6700.
