Call Out to Collect All Media from Saturday’s Dance Party and Benefit:
Friends of Felipe are currently working with legal counsel to collect all media pertaining to the raid of the dance party on Saturday January 30th whether it is video footage, stills, cell phone camera, or any other forms of media documenting the actions of the police toward those that attended the party.
Call Out to Collect All Media from Saturday’s Dance Party and Benefit:
This Saturday (January 30th) a benefit party was held to collect donations for students that have been arrested in the struggle to defend public education. Many people have been arrested in the occupations and this March students activists are anticipating more students will be arrested. During the course of the party two undercover police officer’s infiltrated the party and began to apprehend different individuals. What resulted is a chaotic situation in which police and fire marshals tried to shut down the party, however, different participants felt trapped inside as police violently descended on the party and started the raid. A face off with people that attended the party and police resulted in 11 arrests and at this moment all of them have been released on misdemeanor charges except one San Francisco State University student, Felipe Rivera. Currently he is being charged with three felony charges and a bail amount of $ 400,000 indicating the severity of these alleged offenses.
