January 30 Saturday 9 am San Francisco Walk for Haiti

Come along on a three hour walking tour of historic downtown San Francisco exploring a dozen of the social movements which have arisen in SF or moved here to flourish (and sometimes expire).

Mormons, hippies, acid-trippers, Diggers, LGBT, Black Panthers, human potential freaks, gold nuts, and dump truck loads of others have attempted to set at least part of the world right, starting in Fog City. This is an introduction to a mess of those valiant quests. The tie that binds them altogether, the walk posits, is the search for a safe human and natural geography where ideas can stew and hatch.

ALL proceeds go to the Haiti Emergency Relief Fund based in Oakland.
$15 suggested donation (regular fee of $10).

Departs from the American Youth Hostel, 312 Mason St. (at O'Farrell) at 9 am. Meets in lobby. Rain (not mist or drizzle) cancels.
