Don't give BART your money!!! Shit, if your going to march, then march. But don't give that corrupt institution any more $ and support. That is no way to protest on the anniversary. Also,, on a train or in a station is a perfect place to get corralled, kettled in and mass arrested.
they can't mass arrest for people simply commuting. bart knows about the community plans to get from fruitvale to humanist hall. it's no secret
plus, the anonymously posted march listed here talks about ending in downtown oakland. for what? if you remember, mass arrests happened last january IN downtown streets with about 70 people arrested in front of the paramount. others are still facing bogus felony charges from other places downtown. who's to say a cop didn't post this hoping to open up a can of whoop ass on international?
also, I think people are hoping to be able to negotiate a free bart ride. that would be the least bart could do for the community this one day, and for bart it would clear out the station a lot faster which I'm sure they want
most people are not willing to march the 4 miles to the humanist hall if they intend on catching the show

A march to downtown Oakland at 5 p.m. in January is a cold nighttime march to an unknown location to do unknown actions. This is walking into the arms of the police. We need to RECLAIM OUR PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION, NAMELY BART. There needs to be a serious fight to lower fares to zero and tell BART to get more federal funding, which is to say, get the money from the war machine. To mobilize people, we need EVERYONE ON BOARD, and that includes all people who cannot walk 4 miles. Most of us are lucky to walk 1 mile. We are all ages and all abilities and BART BELONGS TO ALL OF US, THE TAXPAYERS. If you live here, you are a taxpayer whether it be sales tax, income tax or both. We are not demonstrating to engage in fights with the police; we are demanding an end to the police murder allowed by the elected BART Board, an end to the use of guns and tasers on BART authorized by the elected BART Board, and we MUST DEMAND AN END TO THE OUTRAGEOUS FARES, and that they BE LOWERED TO ZERO.
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
