*March across campus: noon-1 PM
*March on the administration building (MSR): starts at 1 PM
*Everyone is welcome: students, faculty, staff, local residents, parents, local business owners.
The protest is to bring attention to the following:
-Student fees have gone up 30% while we have lost 21% of our faculty and several of our classes
-President Shirvani (of Stan. State) has decided to remove winter term despite overwhelming student and faculty support to keep it
-President Shirvani and his administration have been spreading misinformation to the community and media about how professors are paid and the supposed benefits of getting rid of winter term
-In a nationally published article in the 'Chronicle of Higher Education' President Shirvani suggested that education is a "privilege and not a right"
-President Shirvani has not been willing to work with students and faculty and created an atmosphere of intimidation and oppression
