* TIME: 4:00-5:30 pm
* WHERE: APTOS HIGH SCHOOL CAFETERIA, 100 Mariner Way, Aptos
* Dinner will be served!
The last ALL PVFT meeting was a great success. Almost 100 teachers came out and a lot of information was shared. We hope more teachers will come to the December 2 meeting for further updates and input.
WHY?
The Negotiations Process continues to be intense! We want to update members and hear your thoughts!
WHY?
In order to present the district with alternatives, we need to continue to communicate what we want, what we are and aren't willing to give, and what we are willing to do!
WHY?
There is strength in numbers. We are powerful if organized! We must hear what life is like for teachers at different school sites.
WHY?
The district needs to present a budget by December 2009! The teacher's voice must be heard and we must figure out how to work together.
We know you are tired but these Budget Study Session are important as we move closer the end of the year and MORE CUTS TO PUBLIC EDUCATION!

definitely great to see the pajaro teachers uniting, preparing to stand up to the pajaro valley administrators who are living hi on the hog while everyone else eats poo. but...i'm not sure if the teachers union is putting this on, but there neeeds to be something done to align with ALL teachers on campuses: aides, subs, non full timers, release time teachers, hell maybe even the secretaries. efforts in the past to have these other crucial positions become unionized with the teachers union was rebuffed by the pajaro teacher's union, leaving others out in the cold, teachers appearing to only look out for their own narrow self-interest...but i do definitely applaud your efforts, don't get me wrong, but when ya get the lay off like i did maybe you'd feel the same...also, worth noting that the santa cruz teacher's union did in fact take on subs as fellow unionites, seeing that the twos plight goes hand in hand...
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
