Besides campaigning for a US Department of Peace, The Peace Alliance advocates for a Culture of Peace. Peace has a lot of fans in Marin. It’s thrilling to learn how many aspects of peace building are happening in the county. Just a few examples are: Robert Plath’s Worldwide Forgiveness Day http://www.forgivenessalliance.org/day.html in its thirteenth year, Peace Novato www.mpjc.org with its origami cranes that enumerate the lives lost in Iraq and are carried in local parades, and Seniors for Peace at the Redwoods http://www.mvseniorsforpeace.org/index.html in Mill Valley who have been on the corner of Miller and Camino Alto on Fridays for more than six years as well as meeting on most Mondays to educate themselves about political issues and peace activities in the Bay Area. Perhaps you have some project that would benefit from support or the germ of a peacebuilding idea that needs nourishing. So, let’s get started. November 21st is the Saturday before Thanksgiving just before everything gets busy (9:30 AM to 11:30 AM). The entering the office building at the south end of the complex around the corner from PF Chang’s. RSVP to me, Lorrie Norby, lnorby@post.harvard.edu, so we’ll know how many chairs to put out. Questions and comments are welcome now and at the meeting: 415-381-2157. Corte Madera Town Center Community room 201 near 36, 80, 70, 71 bus routes from 101 and the 22, one too
