In a world long beset with environmental crises, responsibility looks to finally be settling on the shoulders of the next generation of human beings.
The Millennial Changemakers
Erica Fernandez, Stanford student; Grassroots Organizer Opposing Liquefied Gas and Pesticide Spraying in S. CA
Rachel Barge, Director and Founder, Campus InPower
Alec Loorz, Founder, Kids vs. Global Warming
May Boeve, Co-coordinator, 350.org
The Millennials and Generation Y are perhaps the most eco-savvy generations in U.S. history. Born between 1978 and 2000, 95 million youth are inheriting an ecosystem on the brink. The climate crisis is a key issue for them and has birthed a new branch of environmentalism - diverse in its leadership, global in scope, and youth-driven. The recipients of the Brower Youth Award, North America's top prize for bold young environmental leaders, share this movement's origins, its victories and opportunities.
Location: SF Club Office
Time: 6 p.m. check-in, 6:30 p.m. program, 7:30 p.m. networking reception
Cost: MEMBERS FREE, $18 non-members, $7 students (with valid ID)
