You're invited to join CODEPINK Women for Peace and Global Exchange for a fundraising party to support humanitarian aid and Bay Area delegates participating in the December 31 Gaza Freedom March—a massive international effort to break the siege of Gaza. CODEPINK and Global Exchange cofounder Medea Benjamin will share her experiences from traveling to Gaza and the latest news about this historic march.
$15 suggested donation at the door gets you a drink and good donation karma. Full bar, Mediterranean appetizers, dinner entrees, hookah available.
Can you imagine a more important place to mark the end of 2009 than in Gaza, marching hand in hand with Palestinians and people from all over the world who are committed to peace, justice, human rights, ending the siege of Gaza, and rebuilding the country devastated by the Israeli attacks one year ago? We can't. The Gaza Freedom March delegation will take place in Gaza Dec. 27-Jan. 2. On December 31, 2009 we will mark the New Year by marching alongside the Palestinian people of Gaza in a non-violent demonstration that breaches the illegal blockade. Already over 300 people from over 30 countries have signed up. They include writers like Alice Walker, actors like Duraid Lahham, members of Parliament from Europe and Asia, diplomats, interfaith leaders, students, journalists and more. Will you help us make this march a success by giving a donation?
Tax-deductible donations can be made payable to CODEPINK. If you can't make it to the fundraiser, you can send a check to CODEPINK, 2010 Linden Avenue, Venice, CA 90291. To make a donation online, to find out more about the march, or to sign up to join us in Gaza, please visit http://www.gazafreedommarch.org.
