The Senate Natural Resources & Water Committee and Assembly Water, Parks & Wildlife Committee will convene for a joint hearing on the 2009 Delta/Water Legislation tomorrow, Wednesday, October 28, at 1 p.m. in Room 4203 of the Capitol.
The hearing will concentrate on bond bills and water financing language. "We have learned that Senator Steinberg and Senator Cogdill each introduced a bond bill in the 7th Extraordinary Session this afternoon," said Alf W. Brandt, Principal Consultant for the Assembly Committee on Water, Parks & Wildlife. "They both will be available at http://www.leginfo.ca.gov as SB X7 2 and SB X7 3."
"We may have additional information available today," said Brandt. "Stay tuned to the webpages of both committees, as we try to post documents we give to members, such as the summaries of the topics addressed in SB X7 1, which we gave members yesterday morning."
The hearing will begin with opening comments, followed by a discussion of the proposed waer bond by President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg. This will be followed by a discussion of proposed financing language by Phil Isenberg, Chair of the Delta Vision Blue Ribbon Task Force and Catherine Freeman and Jason Dickerson of the Legislative Analyst Office. After that, the public will be able to comment.
