- Floor Plans -
I have lived in many different buildings and cities. The act of moving and settling, moving and settling, has left me disconnected from a true sense of home. I do, however; have a keen sense of fondness for the space within the walls I once inhabited. Each apartment, house, or flat has provided me with new challenges and experiences. In this series of floor plan drawings, I engage with the places I have lived in by retracing the structure of their walls on paper from memory. My level of emotional connection distorts the size and shape of the rooms. The results are whimsical memory landscapes that reflect what took place inside the walls rather than the physical walls themselves.
I have a MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and BFA from The College of St Rose in Albany NY. My current work maps memories as a way to engage with my surroundings.
