BOO! YOO! Dismiss, Disbar, Prosecute the "Torture Professor"

Date:
Wednesday, October 28, 2009
Time:
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Event Type:
Protest
Organizer/Author:
Cynthia Papermaster
Location Details:
UC Berkeley Campus. Meet at Cafe Strada, Bancroft @ College Ave. at 2PM. From there we walk to Chancellor Birgineau's office, 200 California Hall; at 2:45 we go to the Law School to protest Yoo, where his class starts at 3:20.

BOO! YOO! Protest "torture professor" John Yoo. Why is he still teaching at UC Law School-- he said it's legal to torture, over 100 detainees have died, children are tortured, his complicity in torture is a felony and violation of international and U.S. law. Yoo is a monster. We call for UC to dismiss him, and the DOJ to prosecute Yoo. This Halloween-themed protest will feature "trick or treat" visits to the UC Chancellor and Law School Dean's offices. Help hand out candy with anti-Yoo slogans, do a ritual called "Yoo Be Gone!, sing "John Yoo Shall Be Removed". Dress in prison outfits (we'll supply Yoo masks), witches hats and robes, bring handcuffs.
