CodePink Greets Obama Inside and Outside Fundraiser in SF
At about the same time Jodie Evans of CodePink was hand delivering a petition to President Obama signed by Afghani women who want an end to war, a bright pink banner with a message for peace fluttered in front of the gaze of shoppers, tourists, and demonstrators from the top floor of one of Union Square's tallest buildings.

On October 15 Jodie Evans hand delivered a petition to President Obama signed by Afghani women who want an end to war. The CodePink co-founder attended the Democratic Party fundraiser at San Francisco’s Westin St. Francis Hotel where Obama spoke while protesters, many of whom were demanding the cessatoin of war in Afghanistan, demonstrated outside.
Evans collected signatures of Afghani women during a trip there last week, creating a petition that asks for a role in the peace process and demanding that the U.S. abandon plans to send in additional troops.
Corporate media reporters later asked Evans what she said to the President to which she replied: “The women there are really upset that they are not at the negotiating table."
She said the President's reponse was: "What do you mean, I have Hillary?"
Evans elaborated:… "I said, no the Afghan women want to be at the negotiating table. He looked at me and said: ‘Oh.’”
Evans then said "I am here to remind you to keep your promises for peace… to which Obama replied: ‘You know we are not going to end the problem in Afghanistan any time soon.’ "
At about the same time the CodePink co-founder was meeting with the President, other CodePink members unfurled a banner from atop one of Union Square's largest buildings. Tourists, shoppers, and demonstrators spotted the banner demanding peace, many stopping to point and shoot photos. Security and police spotted it after awhile and down it came, but not before these photos were taken.

It's it about time we stopped referring to Code Pink as an "anti-war" organization? They're leaders are all in favor of continuing the occupations of Afghanistan and Iraq, a position they call "nuanced" while shilling for whatever corporate scumbag the DNC coughs up every four years.
They're not "anti-war." They're just pro-democrat.
