Green Planet Films presents SCRAPHOUSE: San Francisco.
A free ONLINE streaming media event and contest all about SCRAP! in association with Public Architecture and SF Station.

The purpose of the 24 hour free streaming media event is to demonstrate the infinite possibilities and creativity that green building and 'reuse' of materials has to offer. Additionally, a contest will be held to help ease in San Francisco's new Universal Recycling and Composting Ordinance, taking effect October 21, 2009 which in part will require City residents and businesses to compost kitchen scraps.

Enter a CONTEST to win a NatureMill in-home composter (valued at $400).

ABOUT THE FILM.
The locally produced film ScrapHouse: San Francisco follows a team of architects, designers, engineers, city officials and builders who, in honor of World Environment Day 2005, were challenged to construct an architecturally sound, single family dwelling using only scrap, recycled and salvaged materials-and in only six weeks. The project was conceived of by Anna Fitch and Chicken John, directed by filmmaker Fitch and designed by Public Architecture, with construction taking place in San Francisco's Civic Center Plaza. The film will be streamed free for 24 hours on October 21, before being released on DVD.
