Why Socialism?

It is during a moment of crisis that the true nature of capitalism is revealed.

Capitalism puts making profits over the needs of working people. Under capitalism, we see an endless cycle of war, environmental destruction, unemployment, people living on the streets and many dying of illnesses because they cannot afford health care.

Socialism, on the other hand, is the type of society whose main goal is to cover the needs of people. Under socialism, everyone will have a job, free high-quality health care, affordable housing and a free education. Join us for a talk and discussion on how this can be achieved.

Fight the Budget Cuts!

As unemployment soars to double digits here in California, the richest state in the U.S., workers and students are organizing to fight cuts in social services, shrinking salaries and higher tuition. Politicians in Sacramento insist the budget deficit is due to shrinking revenues stemming from the current economic depression but in reality, they are protecting the profits of the corporations and banks.

However, workers and students are fighting back with walkouts, rallies and community speak-outs. Hear how you can get involved.

¿Por qué Socialismo?

Es durante un momento de crisis que la verdadera naturaleza del capitalismo se revela.

El capitalismo da más importancias a ganancias que las necesidades del pueblo trabajador. En el capitalismo, vemos un ciclo incesable de guerra, destrucción del medio ambiente, desempleo, gente viviendo en las calles y muchos muriendo de enfermedades porque no pueden adquirir salud médica.

El socialismo, al contrario, es un tipo de sociedad cuya meta principal es atender las necesidades del pueblo. En el socialismo, todos tendrán trabajo, cuidado médico de alta calidad, viviendas accesibles, y educación gratis. Únete con nosotros para una plática y discusión sobre como esto se puede lograr.

¡Lucha contra los recortes!
Mientras que el desempleo se aumenta hacia los dobles dígitos aquí en California, el estado más rico de los EE.UU., trabajadores y estudiantes están organizándose para luchar contra los cortes a servicios sociales, salarios que se están disminuyendo, y más alta tarifas. Los políticos en Sacramento insisten que el déficit del presupuesto se debe al reducimiento en ganancias que provienen de la depresión económica actual pero en realidad, están protegiendo las ganancias de las corporaciones y los bancos.

Sin embargo, trabajadores y estudiantes están luchando con huelgas, manifestaciones, y reuniones del barrio. Escuche como se puede involucrar.
