The Annual Art Auction benefiting Shipyard Trust for the Arts (STAR)

The Annual Art Auction benefiting Shipyard Trust for the Arts (STAR) will be held on Sunday, November 1 at 5pm. This event is part of Fall Open Studios at the Hunters Point Shipyard, taking place on Saturday, October 31st (11am – 6pm) and Sunday, November 1 (11am – 6pm). Funds raised by the auction will support STAR’s programs, including grants for studio space as part of the 18-month Artist in Residence Program, as well as upcoming projects such as free art workshops in the surrounding Bayview-Hunters Point community. Over 100 artworks are donated by the talented shipyard artists whose collections will be on view during the 2-day event. Come bid on a wide range of works, including painting, printmaking, watercolor, jewelry, sculpture, photography, and wearable art. Arrive at 4:30 to enjoy hors d’oeurves, wine from Layer Cake, and live music. New this year is a raffle that will take place throughout the weekend. Buy $2 raffle tickets for a chance to win various gifts, such as cases of wine, art books, tickets to Alcatraz, and gift certificates to local stores.
