Free the Cuban Five

This month marks the 11th anniversary of the arrest of the Cuban Five. The Cuban Five are Cubans serving lengthy prison sentences in the U.S. for stopping terrorist attacks against Cuba by Miami-based right-wing groups. They are political prisoners and must be released.

Despite the US Supreme Court refusing to hear their case earlier this year, the fight to win their freedom continues in the courts and in the streets. Gloria LaRiva, head of the National Committee to Free the Cuban Five, will give an update on their case and tell us about ways we can get involved in the struggle for their freedom.

U.S. out of Colombia!
As Latin Americans set their eyes on a path towards independence, U.S. imperialism has seen its grip on the region slip. But the U.S. can still count on Colombia, its loyal client state. Despite popular struggle in the country and in the region against U.S. domination, the Colombian government is set to authorize an expanded U.S. military presence in the country.

Latin America continues the struggle to chart its own course, free from U.S. dictates. Join us for an informed analysis on the situation in Colombia.

¡Liberen a los Cinco Cubanos!

Este mes marca el 11 aniversario de la detención de los Cinco Cubanos. Los Cinco Cubanos son cubanos sirviendo una sentencia de prisión prolongada en los EE.UU por detener ataques terroristas contra Cuba por parte de grupos derechistas basados en Miami. Ellos son prisioneros políticos y deben de ser liberados.

A pesar de que la Corte Suprema estadounidense se negó escuchar su caso al inicio de
este año, la lucha para ganar su libertad continua en las cortes y en las calles. Gloria
LaRiva, directora del Comité Nacional para Liberar a los Cinco Cubanos, nos pondrá al
día de su caso y nos dirá como poder involucrarnos en la lucha por su libertad.


¡EE.UU fuera de Colombia!
Mientras que latino-americanos se enfocan en su camino hacia la independencia, el imperialismo estadounidense ha visto su asimiento sobre la región debilitar. Pero los EE.UU todavía puede contar con Colombia, su fiel cliente estatal. A pesar de la lucha popular en el país y la región contra la dominación estadounidense, el gobierno colombiano está dispuesto a autorizar una presencia expandida del militar estadounidense en el país.
