Film Description:
THE PERVERT'S GUIDE TO CINEMA takes the viewer on an exhilarating ride through some of the greatest movies ever made. Serving as presenter and guide is the charismatic Slavoj Zizek, the Slovenian philosopher and psychoanalyst. With his engaging and passionate approach to thinking, Zizek delves into the hidden language of cinema, uncovering what movies can tell us about ourselves.
This film is an important examination of some of the most important movies in the history of Western cinema. Marxist Philosopher Slavoj Zizek tours the film age with an analytic lens from Critical Theory in this important and fun film on films. Looking at the message behind the medium, Zizek gives us a perspective on film as a cultural critique and shows us a way of looking at movies armed with the tools and skills of critical thinking.
