We are organizing an organic, heirloom tomato tasting event at the Picchetti winery in Cupertino, on Saturday, the 26th from 1-4pm. We will have over 30 varieties of heirloom tomatoes available for tasting, picked from select, local organic farms. From Striped Germans through Green Zebras and Cherokee Purples, you will appreciate the diversity, color display and rich, complex flavor!
Finger food will be served to complement the tomatoes and cleanse the palate. Wine and non alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase from the winery.
The event will be held outdoors in the beautiful Bay Area peninsula open space preserve location, near highways 280 and 85 (there are numerous great hiking trails up into the open space behind the Picchetti tasting rooms). Admission is $23 with early registration, mostly to cover expenses related to renting space for the event.
So, please - come and enjoy the rich and complex flavors of Heirloom Tomatoes. Big and small, striped and speckled, pink, yellow, green, red and black - from old and tried Heirlooms to entirely new Heirloom varieties, you will be able to pick your favorite.
This is a not for profit event organized by gardening and tomato enthusiasts.
Hope to see you there!
