a Benefit for People Organizing To Demand Environmental & Economic Rights (PODER)

What:
On Friday, September 11, 2009, PODER is throwing a Pachanga in support of our work to end environmental racism and uphold human rights in San Francisco. The only Latino/a environmental justice organization based in the Mission and Excelsior Districts of San Francisco, for the last 17 years PODER has served the people and organized grassroots campaigns to pass legislation and programs that reduce toxins, develop healthy and affordable neighborhoods, protect immigrant families and strengthen the civic leadership of everyday people .

Pachanga Pa'l Pueblo will feature live music by local global pop sensation Rupa & The April Fishes, and the cumbia, rock and reggae styling of DJ's Santero, Rosa La Rumorosa and Mixtek. Plus, Do It Yourself button-making, barrio-style veggie tacos and fresh juices, raffle with prizes provided by local artists and mom & pop businesses, and many more social justice goodies.
