We are taking advantage of a last-minute opportunity. Ellen Thomas will be here to talk about Proposition One, a grassroots effort to get a nuclear ban on the ballot.
PROPOSITION ONE
Thursday, Aug. 27, 7:00 p.m.
Resource Center for Nonviolence
515 Broadway, Santa Cruz
Proposition One in a promise from the United States to the world that we will get rid of all our nuclear weapons if everyone else does, and will use the money instead to convert the war machines to provide for human needs, especially alternative energy industries. Nobody loses on Proposition One. Those who are currently employed in the "defense" industries will be able to keep on working at the cutting edge of the Clean Energy Age. Those who are trained to work with radioactive materials can help with the cleanup and scientists can do research on the neutralization of radiation.
You will see parts of a video narrated by former nuclear weapons builder Dr. Ted Taylor.
You will hear about where the legislation is currently and the help that is needed.
Please join us.
