Governor Schwarzenegger is currently starring in the biggest disaster movie of his career - unfortunately so are we. California workers are under attack: Unemployment rates at 12%, thousands of state workers are being laid off, we have a state college system that has suspended admissions for spring of 2010, raised fees 20% and forced its faculty to take unpaid leave two days a month. In the private sector, if you have a contract with the state, you’re liable to get an IOU instead of a paycheck. Join us for a discussion with public worker activists about how to fight back against these cutbacks. Speakers: Charles Rachlis, Scientist, Member of CAPS, Charles Smith, AFSCME, Local 444, Mary Ann Ring, CUE, Local 6
