Grizzly Bear Festival
At Rancho del Oso Nature and History Center
Saturday, August 22, from 1:00PM to 4:00 PM
Spend the day at Rancho del Oso Nature and History Center to discover more about its celebrated extinct mascot, the mammal that Rancho del Oso was named for: the Grizzly Bear.
Ranger Frank Balthis will give a talk and slide show on wild grizzlies in Alaska and Wyoming.
Docent Doreen Devorah will entertain us with a dramatization of William Waddell's last encounter with a grizzly bear. There will be children's activities all day from teddy bear picnics to mask making and songs. This event is free.
