OPD murder Brownie Polk

by M
On Saturday, August 1, the OPD shot and killed Brownie Polk, who they claim was carrying a hatchet. But witnesses and friends of Polk say that he was a tradesman and always carrying one kind of tool or another. The police say there was a complaint made of someone causing a disturbance, but the owner and employees of the store say Polk was causing no disturbance and they didn’t call the police.

One hopes Mayor Dellums gives this the attention it deserves to ensure all parties are satisfied and the truth is revealed. No family deserves the added insult of the unknown while mourning. Especially one which has contributed so much positive energy to the City of Oakland over the decades. RIP Brownie.

He was wrongfully killed, but he did have a ax/hatchet, even friends at the scene said he actually did have a hatchet. The police murdered him for nothing, in cold blood, but don't insinuate the ax wasn't there and the police made that part up too.

He was a tradesman and always was carrying one kind of tool or another.

I am only a lone voice, but I think that people should get together and organize a demonstration around this.
What planet am I on? What day is it? Where are my glasses? Ah damn, I don't wear glasses! Most know this man was borderline paranoid schitzophrenic. He is well known to be "way out there".

Although still a human being for sure with some definite hardships and hard work history to show as well, sooner or later either the hood or the police was going to not overlook his sarcastic disposition and take action. And of course, who is going to admit to the media they dropped a dime on him, no one wants that unrealistic blame directed at them when this has been sure to happen sooner or later.

For those that are portaiting him as very kind hearted, yes he was===== come on though... "Step into the light Carol Anne", most are shaking their head, "Uh Huh, thats Brownie."

Hopefully this trust set up for the little man will help put him in a more positive light and future with his hardships beginning as well. Its all what you choose to make it little bro. When it is all said and done, we all get to live with our own decisions and in our own skin. Keep your head up, where there is breath, there is hope.

Sorry to rain on the "victim" parade, tell the truth, and shame the devil folks, whether you have ever been on the inside of this man or on the outside of him, those that choose to look at the truth know he can rest now, and we can rest knowing he is safe in God's arms now.

He will be missed because he was still definitely somebody. Rest in peace Bro, game over.

As for the officer in question- it is a dog eat dog world, all have to make the choice to how far their life can be risked with definite "flashes of life, family and so forth" filtering in on the silent and Quick thoughts of "What do I do?"

Be sure many have asked, "Oh is he just trippin, again?, or "Damn, is he serious?" You did what you had to do. I wish peace on your conscience as well.

People love to excuse the police even when they are wrong. Some people on here have one hell of a way to send their condolences to man that just got murdered. Write everything off when the police do wrong. saying "come on though, the man who is dead was way out there" as if that were to justify murder. Who the fuck are you to decide who get's to live or die because of their mental status. That's not up to you. The god you speak of, please. If anything he agree's with me if there is such thing as a god. If there is such a thing then why do the polce always get away with murder. Why are they never punished to the full extent of the law like everybody else? And that's why I like to say "only good cop is a dead one. " >:-( Photobucket

Brownie was a well known and respected man around our neighborhood. He will be greatly missed! It is hard to believe that he is gone and even harder to believe the way his life was carelessly taken away. It is a shame that his image is being diluted by lies, but, that is the way it is! The OPD may get away with another murder, but, God knows the truth. I have and will continue to pray for all those involved.

There WILL be a demo, this Saturday @ noon at the place he was killed, the corner of 71st and International Blvd. Everyone should come through.

This is just another example of how there aren't "bad cops"--but cops uphold a system which needs to use excessive force to keep the people at the bottom afraid of rebelling.
by Somebody is lying
The popo say the owner called police. This sight is saying that he didn't. The cops can't be called on it, so can you provide any evidence to back up the claim that the owner didn't? His word would carry weight.

The video is gonna be a problem when police release it. If, as they claim, Brownie is advancing on the officer with the ax over his head, then all of these claims of an innocent man slaughtered are gonna lose their credibility.
by THANKS MAN
BROWNIE POLK WAS GOOD MAN & BROTHER WILL MISS YOU . p.s Dont 4 Get About Da lil people

Any more info on this demonstration?
When those who control the evidence don't release it, they have a reason.

"THEY" ALWAYS WIN BECAUSE WE ALWAYS LET THEM, BECAUSE THEY'RE THE POLICE
by um
its not just indybay saying that. all over the mainstream media stories, its come out that the people who own the store, as well as the employees in the store, DID NOT CALL THE COPS. They said Brownie was a regular customer and they had no problem with him.
by Evidence please
Can you link to any stories where the owners deny calling the cops or say they didn't feel he was threatening?

"The popo say the owner called police."

The police say one thing and witnesses told the quoted TV station the exact opposite.
Also the police do not say the owner called police (in which case there would be a log of the call); they say the owner flagged down a police car. How do you prove they didnt when its one police officers word against a bunch of witnesses?
