Happy Birthday, Medicare! July 30 in Menlo Park, Fremont and Wash DC

Celebrate 44 Years of a plan that provides health care for millions of seniors! Activists in the San Francisco Bay Area will demonstrate on July 30 in solidarity with a demonstration in Washington DC for a single-payer plan similar to Medicare for the nation.

In the East Bay, members of the California Alliance for Retired Americans and others will urge Congressman Pete Stark to vote in favor of a House bill for Single Payer. They will meet at 11am in front of the Congressman's office on Civic Center Drive in Fremont. The address is 39300 Civic Center Drive, Fremont, 94538

Both groups are coming out in support of Rep. John Conyers, Jr., (D-MI) bill to improve and expand Medicare for all (HR 676) and of Rep. Dennis Kucinich , (D-OH) for his amendment to enable states to adopt single-payer healthcare.
