18 Reasons presents 18th Hour
A weekly food and wine tasting
Suggested Donation: $5 general public, $10 18 Reasons members
Did you know that the earliest record of kombucha has been traced to the Ukraine and Russia during the late 19th century?
Did you know that the pancake-like culture that launches the fermentation of Kombucha, often reffered to as a "mushroom" or a "Mother of vinegar", is clinically known as a zoogleal mat? Household kombucha producers are multiplying as fast as a kombucha culture, and 18 Reasons will host a night of recipe exchange, kombucha tasting, and tip giving.
If you have been making Kombucha at home, please bring a jug to share with the group, copies of your tried and true recipe, and tips for success. Bonus points for anyone who brings Mothers to give to new growers. If you've been wanting to get on the Kombucha train, come and learn from the experts!
