Miki Kashtan, founder of Bay Area Nonviolent Communication, has been actively coaching the Peace Alliance in their U.S. Department of Peace campaign, facilitating regular telephone conferences to assist Peace Alliance workers in effective open-hearted communication with government officials. To read more about Miki's work with the Peace Alliance click here.
Miki Kashtan has also been supporting global social change movements, including facilitation of the African Alliance for Peace summit in Ghana and a global peacebuilding and conflict transformation summit in Japan.
Now Miki is facilitating monthly Saturday workshops and Tuesday evening telephone conferences that are open to the general public. Each monthly workshop and telecourse will be on a different topic: you are invited to participate in one or more of them.
Nonviolent Communication has been described as a language of compassion. Its basic premise is that underlying all human actions are needs that people are seeking to meet, and that understanding and acknowledging these needs can create a shared basis for connection, cooperation, and more globally -- peace.
"Miki's leadership inspires, startles, thrills and challenges my growing edge. It meets my needs for hope, fresh possibilities, and change in the smallest part of my heart and in the world at large." --Melody Stewart, Santa Rosa, CA
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for licensed social workers, marriage & family therapists and registered nurses.
A break for lunch will be provided during each monthly Saturday workshop. A Whole Foods Market and Deli is across the street from the workshop location at 2501 Harrison Street, near Lake Merritt in Oakland. The workshop location is wheelchair accessible, is convenient to public transit and offers free parking.
All of Miki Kashtan's monthly workshops are offered on a sliding scale basis. For more information about the monthly Saturday workshops at 2501 Harrison Street, near Lake Merritt:
