Queer Perspectives for your Radical Life
Workshop through FreeSkool Santa Cruz
Monday, July 20, from 6-9 pm at SubRosa (703 Pacific)
A discussion and exploration of current queer terminology and practices, and a look at how queer situated knowledge can enhance radical and anarchist communities. We'll talk about, from our (queer!) perspectives, the difference between "gay" and "queer," a critique of the gender binary, normativity and the politics of shame, the intersection of queer and anarchist experience, cultural competency, and practical ways that friends and community members can do to help create more queer-friendly spaces.
