(The Military Budget) IT’S NOT FAIRE! Share a Fair slice of a better pie with United for Peace and Justice.
We have all seen the chart depicting U.S. budget priorities by now....the slices for anything other than military and defense spending are miniscule. For the Pentagon and the wars they are gigantic. Here we are again tightening our belts as the economy flounders and the wars rage on un-noticed.
Please join us for a lovely midsummer evening of cocktails and conversation, charming musical delights, pie eating, games, formidable fundraising, robust rabble rousing and military budget busting.
This is both a fundraiser for United for Peace and Justice AND a chance to get in early on our new campaign The Half-baked Military Budget PIE. We are serious about educating people about the effect of out of control military spending on our economy during this time of crisis. We are serious about raising funds to keep our national peace and justice coalition focused and functioning during this period of change and adjustment. We are also serious about showing you a very very good time.
JOIN US - SUNDAY JULY 26, 4-7pm, 766 Fell Street, San Francisco between Webster and Fillmore.
PLEASE RSVP: 415 863 3771 or sirism[at]mac[dot]com.
Very close to the 22 Fillmore and the 21 Hayes bus lines.
Join the PIE BAKING COMPETITION! Enter a pie. Either of the real delicious home-baked variety OR your best illustration of what our Buget Pie OUGHT to look like.
We are also developing a budget trivia game for our campaign and invite you to submit trivia questions about this not in the least trivial issue. We will play a round on the 26th. Send trivia questions to sschwartz[at]afsc[dot]org.
We are very pleased that JUDITH LE BLANC the National Outreach Coordinator of UFPJ will be present. Beyond War a New Economy is Possible!
Mia and Jonah (http://miaandjonah.com/) will be performing along with other delights! YOU WILL be entertained, touched, and delighted.
