In face of the recent massacre of over 100, (estimates up to 1000!!!), indigenous as they fight to protect our mother earth, (they say the Amazon jungle is the life lungs of the planet), from increase mining and oil extraction thanks to a recently passed free trade agreement with the US, (please read below for more info).
As a part of Rising Tide’s Week of Actions call out, People of Color Theater (POCAT) invite you to join us for an action/theater:
Friday, June 19, 11:30am - 1pm
11:30: Meet up, go inside to give a statement to the consulate rep., pass out fliers to the Peruvians at the consulate and to encourage them to talk to the consulate rep. and to come and see the theater.
12ish: start the theater, encourage you and others to not be a passive audience and participate with us in the short skit and continue passing out fliers. We'll also read the indigenous demands the Peruvian gov't, chalk up the side walk and more.
We'll have signs but please bring more, chalk, bull horns, etc... (415) 362-5185 … give ‘em a call!
