Army Spc Robin Long resisted fighting in the illegal war in Iraq by seeking sanctuary in Canada—like tens of thousands of American’s did during the Vietnam War. Robin became the first war resister to be deported from Canada in July 2008. He was quickly convicted by a U.S. military court martial of desertion and imprisoned. Help celebrate Robin Long’s release from over a year in a military stockade! Robin is scheduled to be released on July 12.
Today, three courageous Army war resisters face prosecution for having the courage to resist. A fund pitch will be made to help pay for civilian legal defense for Victor Agosto, Travis Bishop (Fort Drum, Texas) and Dustin Stevens (Fort Bragg, North Carolina). Like Robin, these refusers are also represented by attorney James Branum.
Also: Marin Dessert Potluck with Robin Long Friday, July 17.
