Bevatron Demo Press Conference

UC Berkeley is undergoing demolition of the Bevatron, a radioactive relic of nuclear physics. Berkeley environmentalists believe the demolition will release hazardous dusts into the air surrounding the site as well as along the route of disposal. Further, opponents decry the UC's shrugging off of the city of Berkeley's "Nuclear Free Zone" statute, as it plans to haul the hazardous waste right down University Avenue.
