A Murder Charge is Not a Conviction - The Struggle Has Just Begun
The judge's decision to charge (former) BART officer Mehserle is historic, but it is only the first step in a long struggle for justice. Police kill 350 people per year in the U.S., but only 6 were charged with murder over a period of 15 years. Of those six charged, none was CONVICTED of murder. We must keep showing public support for the families and keep demanding justice for Oscar Grant and all the young men on the platform that night. Come to court, get in touch, and get involved.
