Dear Friend,
We are writing to invite you to YES!'s Global Collaborative Day of Engagement on Sunday, June 28, from 2 – 6 PM at the newly opened David Brower Center in downtown Berkeley, CA. The Global Collaborative is a peer learning community comprised of 15 YES! Jam alumni/facilitators from 12 nations and working in a variety of fields including indigenous rights, environmental protection, and social justice. Visit our website at http://yesworld.org/gcbios.html for more information about the Collaborative and individual bios. These are some of our dear friends and inspiring allies, working for transformation on five continents. At the Day of Engagement, we are inviting social changemakers in the Bay Area to come meet and connect with the Global Collaborative members. The afternoon will include space to hear from and engage with the Global Collaborative members from Senegal, Egypt, Kenya, Lebanon/Palestine, India, Brazil, and beyond, and with other leaders in our US and Bay Area communities. Then, we will gather for hosted dialogues in small groups on topics such as indigenous sovereignty, innovative education, and community media.
The Day will close with a brief presentation about YES!, more offerings from our community, and an invitation to support our work that is unfolding in the world.
There is no cost to attend. Donations will be invited from guests, with no obligation, to support the work of the Global Collaborative. You are invited to bring a healthy snack in the spirit of community. Your food offering will help sustain our group as we move through the afternoon’s activities. There is no cost to attend. Please register in advance at https://www.123signup.com/register?id=zkhbs because we want to know you are coming! Confirmation, program details, and directions will be sent thereafter to all registered guests. If you have any questions, contact Julie at julie at yesworld.org.
With much gratitude, we look forward to gathering with our community to share some of the transformative work that your partnership is helping to make possible.
Thank you for all that you do,
YES! Staff
Ocean Robbins, Tiffany Brown, Romy Narayan, Lorin Troderman, Nga Trinh-Halperin, and Julie Pennington on behalf of the Global Collaborative
