Presenting:
William Hernández on El Salvador
Deputy in the Central American Parliament.
Mr. Hernández has a long relationship with CISPES and served as a CISPES representative in El
Salvador. Also, he was very involved with the FMLN’s presidential campaign and organizing
efforts that brought about the 2009 legislative, municipal, and presidential victories.
Accompanying President Elect Mauricio Funes and Vice-president Elect Salvador Sanchez Cerén
throughout the campaign, Hernández participated in and experienced first hand the combination
of FMLN grass-roots organizing and the mobilization of the social and popular movements to
bring out the vote and then defend it from fraud
José Jacques y Medina (or designee) on Mexico
A member of the Mexican Congress representing Mexican migrants in the United States, he is
involved in plans for a Parlamento Migrante Summit on immigration reform to be held in
Washington, DC, to bring together U.S. activists as well as leading activists from Mexico and Latin
America.
