Hello friends and comrades,
We are writing to ask you to please come out to the next IMPACT! meeting, this coming Wednesday, May 27th at 7pm, at 1251 Marian Way in Petaluma. If you are at all interested in getting involved in any of the various projects we are currently organizing, we urge you to spare some time this Wednesday and come check us out. Things that we will be discussing include:
-Food Not Bombs- we serve free meals to local day laborers once a week and are attempting to organize a Day Labor program, such as the ones in Graton and Fulton
-CopWatch- Currently we are focusing on a.) completing a survey about our communities' experiences/attitudes with the police and b.) working with Santa Rosa activists on a campaign to ban the use of Tasers in the County.
-Monthly Activist Gatherings- We have been organizing monthly meetings to bring together groups and individuals representing various causes in the region, with the overall goal of building solidarity between different social movements.
-Committee for Immigrants' Rights- We work closely with this Santa Rosa-based group, which is currently waging a campaign to stop the racist collaboration of our local police with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
-Neighborhood Market- Monthly gathering of neighbors for a free swap/block party event. This is to promote community-building and methods of free exchange.
-Downtown Get Down- Regular event in Putnam Plaza which will include literature, free food, music, and more!
-IMPACT!'s One -Year Anniversary!- Help us plan events to celebrate the one-year anniversary of IMPACT!, including a dinner/concert/party fundraiser on June 20th, and a (tentative) forum on strategizing for social change. More details to come!

Now is the time to get involved, become a member of IMPACT!, and join us in the local fight for social justice! Another world is possible!

In Solidarity,
IMPACT!
