Protest against John Yoo - Boalt Hall Graduation

by J
World Can't Wait - Protest Against the author of the torture memos, John Yoo, Boalt Hall Law Professor
Graduates were greeted by people calling on them to wear orange ribbons and demand the firing and prosecution of John Yoo. Dozens of demonstrators mingled with graduates and their families along a mile stretch of Piedmont Avenue in Berkeley on Saturday morning. The protest against called on graduates, in the historic position as graduates of Boalt Hall and now alumni, to demand that the UC law school not tolerate torture and those who are apologists for torture policies.

Kudos to all you activists who confronted the torture enabler John Yoo. Yoo, too, was a big-time legal prostitute who sold his soul to U.S. Imperial policies. He and Bybee need to be fully prosecuted as veritable war criminals and deserve long jail times in the slammer. Good luck and continue your valiant efforts to expose the miscreants!

Upstanding UC Berkeley professor John Yoo who justified for Bush Administration-the real terrorist that stepping on children's testicles to extract information was legal. This should surprise no one as UCB have authorized the recent starvation of tree-sitters for trying to protect an Ohlone Burial ground along with a World War 1 memorial, can you say "Hate Crime". Along with not giving back some 13,000 Native American ancestors which are stored in the Pheobe Hearst museum in boxes. If that was not enough they have tried to pursecute animals rights activists for standing against their inhumane treatment of some over 40,000 animals they torture and murder every year. Let's not bring up their role in the prolifferation of Nuclear Weapons ie (Nagasaki and Hiroshama).
The letters to the editorial page of the Philadelphia Inquirer are on fire. People are writing in, overwhelmingly opposed to the newspaper’s hiring of John Yoo as a columnist, the former Justice Department lawyer who helped write what’s come to be known as the torture memo that claimed the treatment of prisoners amounted to torture only if it caused the same level of pain as “organ failure, impairment of bodily function or even death.” [includes rush transcript]
