WELLS FARGO CAMPAIGN ORGANIZING MEETING

Wells Fargo owns 8% of the GEO Group Inc., which is one of the largest creator of immigrant detention centers and private prisons around the world. GEO conducts business not only in the U.S., but in the U.K., Australia, and Africa as well. GEO has been accused of numerous human rights abuses in their facilities. Wells Fargo preys on immigrants and their money while supporting the incarceration and deportation of these same immigrants. TO OWN 8% IS TO SHARE RESPONSIBILITY!

JOIN US TO ORGANIZE AGAINST THEIR SHADY BUSINESS AND FOR IMMIGRANT JUSTICE!

WHEN: Wednesday, May 20th @ 6:00pm
WHERE: Brown Beret Warehouse, 555 Main St., Watsonville (Behind Pawn Shop parking lot!)
WHO: Anyone who can donate time, effort, and any skill relating to a boycott/divestment campaign from ALL AROUND the Central Coast!

wells fargo has lent at least one airplane to the CIA for its nazi inspired torture program "extraordinary rendition" flights, according to a list of the airplane owners that was released a few years ago. Also , warrren buffet now owns 15% of the stock, meaning that he can appoint several of the board of directors.

Watsonville's Wells Fargo is a longtime friend of the city's economy & community, supporting local charities and organizations like Second Harvet Food Bank, Loaves & Fishes, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Watsonville Parks Advocates, etc. etc. And its branch manager Diane Vargas was just named to the Watsonville High School Hall of Fame for her lifetime of good actions. But the Watsonville Brown Berets still want to attack the brancharound for something done by its corporate headquarters, despite the damage they might bring to the bank's employees and the community at large. Who will Medrano kick around next...the Girl Scouts?

When it's so much easier to chuck a brick thru a window or crazy glue an ATM?

FYI - that's sarcasm.

This is NOT just a Watsonville campaign, it is national. This is something ALL Americans should know about, how corporate laws and banks make money off of yours and do business by causing suffering.

Please...get over yourselves people, this is a serious issue, not just about one person, group, or branch of a bank.

by Open Mind
It is shocking and frustrating to read the comments of the closed minded people who are linking this campaign to just one bank, one person, one group and one corner of a small town in America.

Have you left Watsonville lately? Do you read the newspaper? Or travel? Have you gone to school (past Watsonville High School)? Do you understand the interconnectedness of ALL of this?

Corporate laws, corporate personhood, stock ownership, private prisons, human rights...these are the core issues of this campaign.

Second Harvest Food Bank, and other great charities that Watsonville Wells Fargo has helped was not Started by he bank, is not fully sustained by the bank, hell...the bank is not even the largest donor to any of these groups. They giv ea little bit to them, that is very nice of them. They have a lot of money to do so!

It is insulting to human kind to read the insulated comments regarding this small bank that writes a few checks a year to very good causes. Think people!

We are one big nation. Maybe Wells Fargo will buy you a subscription to cable or a national newspaper and you can see for yourself?

This campaign is about holding Well Fargo accountable and encouraging them to do business a better way. It is irresponsible as citizens of this country to allow corporations to invest in human abuse and the perpetuation of prisons. This corporations make money from this community, so this community has a right to demand justice!
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
