UCSB Students Demand to Meet Chancellor Yang, End to Zionist Witch-hunt Against Professor

Today university students in Santa Barbara demanded a meeting with UCSB Chancellor Henry T. Yang. They demanded an end to the Zionist Witch-hunt against Professor William Robinson. Robinson has been targeted by off campus organizations because of his forwarding of images that made a historical comparison to the state violence of the Israeli military actions in Gaza with the state violence of the German Nazi Wehrmacht in Warsaw. In both cases large civilian populations were surrounded, cut off from the outside, cut off from supplies, cut off from medicine, and violently targeted.

UCSB Holocaust E-mail Controversy

UC Santa Barbara sociology professor William I. Robinson has caused a controversy after sending his students an email comparing graphic images of Jews in the Holocaust to pictures of Palestinians in Israel's recent Gaza offensive. The email also included an article criticizing Israel's treatment of Palestinians and a note from Robinson that likened the Gaza Strip to an Israeli confinement camp for Palestinians. The message has caused a university investigation and charges of anti-Semitism from two national Jewish groups. Larry Mantle talks with Professor Robinson and with Rabbi Aron Hier.
