Meet at Colombian Consulate, 595 Market St @ 2nd Street
March to Nancy Pelosi’s Office, 450 Golden Gate Ave, San Francisco
Community Gathering: Bullicio, Cerecece, Parranda and Political Art
Sunday, April 19 @ 2pm in Dolores Park ~ Bring your instruments, stories, dance, theater, juggling balls etc to share in this collective expression of creative resistance!
Leaders in Washington are deciding this spring whether to send more guns and helicopters for the war in Colombia. On Monday, April 20 people in a half-dozen cities across the US will creatively and publicly present 4,000 paper cut-out dolls, each one representing 1,000 of Colombia's four million displaced people to US officials. These symbolic and creative actions are intended to raise the profile of Colombia's crisis and the need for a new US policy.
- Stand up and speak out against the daily displacement of thousands of Colombians!
- Demand an end to helicopters and guns that feed the fire pushing millions from their homes!
- Build solidarity across borders for an end of US military aid to Colombia!
Join us in this colorful grassroots mobilization to urge Nancy Pelosi and President Obama to chart a new policy towards Colombia.
