JR gives the Mixon family an opportunity to talk about Lovelle the person and their shared loss. Amara Langston, his wife, Alica, Amara's sister, and Athena, his mother, speak of Lovelle growing up, his legal troubles, and the sadness they all feel now. They talk about the death of Lovelle Mixon and that of the four Oakland police officers as being senseless and their dismay at how Lovelle was smeared in the press as a rapist. The family says that they feel what happened to Oscar Grant and Lovelle Mixon are two different things and should be treated as such. They request financial aid from anyone who can help and give information on the memorial fund set up through BofA (accnt# 0539873465).
