Sunday, May 3, 9:30 AM
Unitarian-Universalist Center

Martin Luther King Room
The Unitarian-Universalist Forum and the SF Gray Panthers present noted media critic and anti-war activist Norman Solomon, giving his take on Obama’s first 100 days. Important questions loom on the economy, stimulus plans, healthcare, Afghanistan and Pakistan, civil liberties, immigration, and what it would take to push through a progressive response to these challenges.
Norman Solomon is national co-chair of the Healthcare NOT Warfare campaign and sits on the board of Progressive Democrats of America. He served as an Obama delegate at the 2008 Democratic convention, believing that grass-roots pressure could move Obama in a progressive direction.
Norman Solomon writes a nationally syndicated column Media Beat and is author of Made Love, Got War, Close Encounters with America’s Warfare State, War Made Easy: How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death, and Unreliable Sources: A Guide to Detecting Bias in News Media. He is founder of the Institute for Public Accuracy, and an associate in Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR).
$3 for light breakfast. Wheelchairs OK. More information at:
