During the second workshop in this series, students will build the frames for their honey combs; design a bee plan for the year; learn how to regularly examine a hive; and participate in a demonstration in which bees are installed into a hive.
A vegetarian lunch is included in the cost of registration. Wear light colored clothing. Children welcome.
Part III will be on Saturday, June 6
Part IV will be on Saturday, July 25
A Note about the Beginning Beekeeping Workshop Series
These workshops are designed for everyone interested in honeybees and people who are planning to keep bees for the first time. First-time beekeepers should contact Alan Hawkins, 209.834.7156 to make arrangements to purchase necessary equipment and order honeybee colonies.
Fee for each part: $50, $45 members, $30 limited income.
Please indicate when you register which part you will be attending.
Please call the Green Gulch front office at 415.383.3134 to register.

Alan Hawkins received the bodhisattva precepts (jukai) in 1992 and works with bees at Green Gulch and in Tracy.
